I finally got to test my FrankenMauser yesterday. I put this rifle together from used cast-off parts, starting with a Colombian large ring M98 receiver. I installed a HVA Swedish barrel take-off 24" from a Model 640 Husquavarna 30 caliber. I used a bolt assembled from individual parts collected over a period of a couple of years, including a Zastava bolt shroud. Trigger is a Bold Deluxe by Boyds and stock is a Charles Daly synthetic. Trigger guard is a modified military unit of unknown origin. Here are the results. Temperature was in the lower 90s with a fairly brisk wind l-r. Scope was a Simmon's 44 magnum 3x10x44. Rifle on bipod in the picture is my Howa 1500 also in 30.06. The Mauser is against the tree. Not too bad for a pieced together hunting rifle.
