I have several guns my father has given to me for free. I will NEVER part with those guns unless they are being given to my future children. The wife has laid claim to the 20ga Mossberg my father bought me when i was 12 but she knows its techincally on "permanent loan" and that she can call it her gun but it will always belong to me as it was my first shotgun. She just loves it because it came with a youth and adult stock/forearm set and after putting the youth set back on it fits her great.
TO the OP: Great score! I have had friends find old ammo and stuff and give it to me but never any guns.
I found two Remington .22 rifles in the attic of a house my Dad bought. One bolt action and one semi-auto. Both had some surface rust from neglect but were servicable. The former owner moved to South Florida and judging by how he failed to take care of these rifles, I decided not to contact him. If he wants them back he can come get them. That would be a good 12 hour drive from here.
