front scope mount on barrel

Looking at Browning B78's and the Winchester single shots rifles and I notice some rifles have one scope mount on the receiver and one on the barrel. There are also single bases available.

I thought I have read this isn't the best setup or accurate shooting or does it work okay?
If a rifle was a MOA rifle would it also be so with this setup?

Thanks,
Bill

It’s not ideal, but it’s good enough.

Think about this - how many iron sight models have the rear sight on the receiver and the front sight on the barrel?

Also think about this - when folks are buying or building rifles for supreme precision, they’re not buying B78’s or Win single shots. So if you want what you want, get it. If you want extreme precision, chase a different rabbit.

I wasn't thinking extreme precision, but something close to 1 MOA would work for me.
I have a Vanguard S2 which is super accurate (enough) so am thinking something different in a different caliber.
I can see how the lockup of a lever action is based on the single shot so may not be close to 1 MOA, without a lot of effort.
The Ruger No1's are a lot more money than some Browning or Winchesters so it has me thinking.
