Anybody ever fired any of these? Glocks, Berettas, H&Ks, Mauser Broomhandles, that Russian model - the Stenchkin? Just wondering. What are they like? Accurate, fun, pointless? A solution looking for a problem? Is it the Europeans that are into full auto handguns?
I do know that OMB Police Supply Inc sells the G18 for $507.00 and the compensated model is $532.00. this is the price for police departments only. If you doubt me go to their website.
The thirty-two round magazine is $29.95.

While its possible to one hand a mac-10, its also likely your third round will be pointing skyward or higher.

Closed bolt pistols might fair better, but not by much.

Full auto handguns have stocks and a 3 rd burst option for a reason.

LEO/Government only. You cannot buy any machinegun that was not registered with ATF back in 1986.

If you want to see how controllable the Glock is, watch THIS video clip. It's actually a converted Glock 17.

Several years ago I got to fire a 20 round mag of .30 Mauser through a Mauser 712 Schnellfeur (FA Broomhandle). It had the shoulder stock fitted at the time.
I found it controllable when I fired three and four shot groups. The stock was short for me and I had to crane around to use the sights. I noticed more recoil than I expected and figured out later that bursts of three our four 90 grain bullets at 1,200 or 1,300 fps added up to a bit of jump.

More recently I fired a converted Glock 34. the factory ported 9mm.
It was loud due to the porting, but controllable in short bursts. I thought I was shooting four or five at a time but the gunsmith was standing behind me counting three cases per burst.

An educated trigger finger makes FA guns controllable. Slow rates of fire can help, but experience helps more.

Note to anyone who is wondering:
Both these guns were legal to possess. The first was a registered FA gun owned by a collector.
The Glock was converted by a gunsmith/manufacturer with the right Federal licenses. He was with me while I shot the gun so there was no transfer issue.

I've handled a Mac-10. The idea "spray & pray" comes to mind in relation to this piece. No real application other than that.

I've fired converted Glocks and Hi-Powers, and they're basically pointless for anything but phone-booth assassinations; fun to shoot, sure, but it's like throwing your ammo in a burning barrel just to hear it go "pop". The cyclic rate on most FA handguns is so high, and the pistols are so light to begin with, that unless you have a buttstock and/or some form of good, strong two-handed grip on it (the FA CZ-75 uses a second spare mag clipped to the dust-cover, while the Beretta 93R has a fold-down handle in front of the trigger-guard), all shots after the second or third are simply wasted.

I've had the opportunity to shoot about 150 rounds through a full auto Mac 11 in .380. It's affectionately called the "bullet hose" by its owner and friends. The rate of fire on that thing is amazing!! Insert mag, pull trigger for 2 seconds, repeat. The caliber makes it fairly easy to control, although we were just blasting dirt and weeds, not measuring groupings.

I've had a chance to shoot the HK VP70 (only 3 round burst), micro UZI and a BHP that was converted to Full auto.

The VP70 is controlable, only because it is 3 round burst. That guns has an amazing rate of fire. It has a 18 round mag that you can empty quickly with 6 pulls of the trigger.

The Micro UZI was fun. It had 25 round mags that you could (if you practices enough) regulate the amount of fire. But it was pretty much a spray and pray type weapon. 25 rounds in under, at most, 1.5 seconds. But it left a big smile on my face after shooting it. I had the chance to shoot about 250 rounds through it.

The BHP on the other hand wasn't as easily controlable. The mag (only 13 rounders) emptied so quickly I couldn't get my finger off the trigger before it was empty. It had a shoulder stock as well, and I didn't try firing it with out the stock attached.
