Full auto simulating triggers. Are they bunk?

I was taught years ago not to be the first to try a new toy, but don't be the last. The BMF ACTIVATOR on my Ruger 10/22 is a ball to shoot. I changed stocks to one with swing around stock and pistol grip, made an adapter to mount it to a tri pod. My 12yr old grandson can empty a 25rd mag into a standard 18" wide target at a range of 25yrds and keep all rounds within the 8ring. It is a good way to waste ammo, but it also puts a lot of smiles on faces at same time. But lets face it 22lr ammo at bulk prices is not as expensive as taking grand kids out for movies, eats and maybe an arcade.

There really isn't a "use" for a 10-22 equipped with a BMF Activator, unless you consider reasonably cheap entertainment useful.

Honestly though, if you own much more than a good handgun, a .22 rifle, a 12 gauge and an '06 or 30-30, you're probably not into guns purely as utilitarian tools.

Put a BMF Activator on a 10-22 with a bipod, duct tape a quarter bag of #9 shot under the forend and take plenty of ammo.
The extra weight of the lead shot really stabilize's the weapon and allows reasonably accurate shooting. I like to set 15 or 20 water filled aluminum cans on the backstop, lock and load with a Black Dog Machine fifty round drum and go to town on 'em!

My Activator came with brass screws so it probably wouldn't hurt the finish, but I put a few wraps of electrical tape around the triggerguard anyway, it seems to help keep the screws from moving around and slipping off.
