My husband and I were in Orange County and decided to go shoot at "Orange County Indoor Range". We rented a Glock 17 and a 19. My problem is, I was a terrible shot!! I don't know what my problem was because I am normally not that bad. For some reason, I was having trouble even hitting the target at all! The whole experience has left me stunned.
Perhaps I was nervous at the possiblity of Skunkabilly or other Orange County folk walking in- hehe.
Also, we were there for less than an hour and it was $53.00 and we never got a bill explaining what we were paying for. Oh well! Still a fun time at the range- Gotta work on my aim though.

Don't worry, we all have off days. Best thing to do is get back in the saddle and keep shootin'! :D

That's happened to me before. Later I found out that the range was charging $12 for a box a 9mm!!!!

:cuss:

Needless to say, I now purchase ammo elsewhere.

I am a member at that range and depending on how much ammo you shot it can get really pricey. I believe 9mm is about $10 for 50 rounds there, plus the $14 for the first shooter and $7 for the second shooter, plus $4 for each gun rental. That comes out to $39 if you only shot off 50 rounds. They also might of also raised their prices. I agree it is rather pricey but some of the other ranges in the area are much more expensive. I have never shot their glocks there but I know that they get used a lot so they might just be abused, at least that's what I tell myself whenever I shoot poorly.

Thank god I live in the country. The range I belong to has 10 50 yd pistol lanes, plus 20 300 yd rifle lanes. All this for $40 a year and an NRA membership.

Yikes! That's a bit much. Was this in Orange County, FL? TX? CA? ??
Oops! I see your location is MD. Is there an Orange County in MD?

I was about to ask the same thing :scrutiny:

PS if I was there, you wouldn't have seen me.

I am that tactical....

$53 sounds like a lot but it adds up.

The indoor range in my area charges $10/hr (yet I've never seen them clock anyone). Rentals are $8, iirc (I haven't been to the indoor range in my area in years, I have membership at outdoor range). Range ammo $9-$15 depending on caliber.

You figure 2 people would pay:

$10 x 2 = $20 for range fee
$8 x 2 = $16 for two guns

$36 plus whatever in ammo.

Most of us on this board would gag at paying $53 to shoot, but that's because most of us are regular shooters and probably have a membership at a range, own our own weapons (don't rent), reload own ammo or buy in bulk, etc. Thus we try to save money when shooting (only to use that saved money to buy another gun :D).

It was Orange County California.
We didn't bring our own guns cause it seemed like a lot of trouble to go through for just a few days of vacation.
I regret that we didn't see who all we could meet up with when we were there. Maybe next time.

Auuuuuughhhhh!!!!! :banghead:

You should have called, I could have loaned you one!!!! And I have guest passes for the range and enough ammo to make my exhaust pipe drag on the asphault!!!

I've been to that range before.... when I was 16! (Dragged my dad along to shoot with me, slowly ever so slowly converting him) Damn that was a long time ago. Used to be called "Firing Line"

Be thankful-- no one has met me and lived to post about it.

Psst... I met someone that says he shot w/ ya and lived to tell about it. Funny thing is, he bought Carbon Fiber grips from me. ;)

I went indoor range shopping a few months ago, the best range I liked was in Laguna Niguel, On Target. But Orange County Indoor range is nice too.

Everyone has their on and off days. No worries. Just practice practice practice. And, ya might wanna get a membership :p

Anyone in Socal wanna get together for an Indoor Pistol range session? Lets get a meet going! :)

Good shooting. Psst... try a 1911 too :D

My idea...........
one PACT timer
ten pins
three guns (stock, No race)
two runs
