One of the State employees that works in the firearms section of the lab and preps cases for the Firearms Examiners, test fired a CZ 9mm pistol into the recovery tank. When he recovered the bullets he didn’t know why they were damaged.
The gun had been used in a shooting and was sent to the lab as evidence to be processed.
Here’s a pic I took of the bullets.
The one on the right is just for comparison.
The gun had a treaded barrel and there was an AR-15 A2 style flash hider on the barrel. I looked at it and told him that the flash hider was for a 30 cal rifle and that he had just converted 9mm bullets to 30 cal. bullets.
It appears that the bad guy didn’t know better, or was trying to make sure that bullets could not be tracked back to his gun.
