FYI for anyone that frequents or is a member of the new Blue Ridge Arsenal shooting range in Richmond, I've heard that it was closed sometime between Wednesday and Friday. I've seen nothing on their website about it. This info came from a neighbor, a member, who has a LEO relative that participated in the forced closure due to a financial situation. Beyond this I know nothing more.

I hate to see this as it is a great place to go practice. Memberships are reasonable and the range itself is first class. I hope the problem is solved and they reopen quickly.

I got an email from them this morning stating that they were closed until further notice. No explanation given.

Dear Member,

I regret to inform you that we have had to temporarily close our facility. I want to assure you that you will not be charged for membership during our closing. All memberships will be frozen until we are able to open. You will be notified at the time memberships are reinstated.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Sincerely,
Management
Blue Ridge Arsenal Winding Brook

I'm not sure why I got it. I've never been in the place. I did drop them an email once about membership, so I suppose that's where they got my name, so if I get anything else, I'll pass it along.

I shot in there once and I was not impressed with the place or I should say how it was run . I never saw very many cars in the parking lot . There is another range closer to the city ( Colonial ) that I like much more and is always full and they were very nice in there . The owner came up and introduced himself to me while I was looking at reloading supplies and he told me how he came up with the idea of opening the range there . He got the idea after going on vacation with his wife and he went into Gunsite . It is billed as the largest indoor shooting range in the country .

My wife and I were members of Colonial for several years. We just recently dropped our membership, regretfully, but we've found we no longer use it enough to justify a monthly membership. We still stop there from time to time just to shoot.

Great facility, great staff. Highly recommended. We have nothing but praise for the place.

I see. I just want to say, NICE BERETTA!!! :D

I wished they were open. I don't go to Colonial any more because one almost always has to wait for shootig lane to open.

They must be doing things right , I wasn't very impressed with Blue Ridge and would probably not shoot there again , but I really liked Colonial . I can shoot there during the middle of the day on week days , so that does make a difference in any public thing you do , because most people are working a 9 to 5 job .

I stopped by the range on my way to Bass Pro and discovered the range is in fact open again. No firearm sales as there is no longer a FFL associated but shooting is back in progress.

Had a nice range trip to Blue Ridge Arsenal shooting range in Richmond today. They are open but the hours are 12 to 7 and closed on Tuesday, (a change from original hours).

I heard it was under new ownership . It's a nice building , maybe with different management it can succeed .

That's what I was told as well. My mistake in calling it Blue ridge Arsenal. Now known as the Winding Brook Indoor Shooting Range.

Just an update, the range has been reopened for a while now as Winding Brook Shooting Range. The owner of all of the developments on that road was persuaded to keep it open after the Blue Ridge debacle.

You can Google their name and find out everything you need to know. Great indoor range if you're in the area.
