Hello, I just purchased a glock 19 gen 3. When I went to the range to shoot it, I decided to bring a friend who is brand new to fire arms. The fire arm continued to jam when she was shooting it. To my surprise, I had no issues with it whatsoever whenever I shot it. I put in 100 rounds through it with no malfunctions, She put 10 rounds in with 5 malfunctions. It seems obvious that this is an operator error, but what could she have been possibly doing to cause these malfunctions?

Thank you very much for this. This is almost certainly the problem!

Absolutely limp-wristing. Very evident when the shooter and gun appear to visually experience excessive recoil from guns like a Glock 19 (9mm). I experienced the same issues frequently when training female support personnel in the military with the issue M9.

If you have a .22 pistol take your friend back and start with that gun. Once they’re comfortable and proficient they can “graduate” to the 9mm.

Stay safe.

I did, too, and I didn't expect the M9 to be susceptible to it, but it happened. The 1911's didn't jam, but they would almost pop them in the forehead.
