I just got my G20 back from Lonewolf Dist. Added a 6" threaded barrel and slide, Burris FastFire III red-dot set down in a combat melt. Also added Ameriglo Tall Tritium sights (suppressor sites) that can be viewed through the scope when it is not powered on. All new internals and had the whole thing film-dipped. It cycles through Underwood 220gr hard cast ammo like a dream. I'm still breaking it in, but am on cloud nine! Look out hogs!!

Also did a little etching...

Thanks! I was afraid that the photos don't do it justice. I had Lonewolf Distributors do the film dip finish. It is a 4-week chemical bonding process and I couldn't be happier with it. It is $75 which was worth it to me for the weather protection, not to mention the look it gives the gun. I have the original 4.6" slide, as well as a .357 sig and .40 cal slides that I would eventually like to send off for the same style dip. This is "Buck Reaper". I have a .45 slide and barrel on my wish list.

They are a great outfit to deal with. The tech spent a good 30-45 minutes on the phone with me, discussing what I wanted and all of my options and things to consider. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend my friends and family to them.

Definitely a one-of-a-kind looking gun, that's for sure! Hope it works out great for you when you go hunting.

And whatever you do, don't set it down in the woods; you might not find it again.

Wow. I'm not really a Glock fan, nor big on cammo'ed guns, but that's such a neat example of both that I like it.

What kind of critters are you planning to use it on? Hogs?

Wow, maybe the best compliment that I have received on this gun yet, thanks! :) This project has been in the works for a long time. I scrimped and saved and then had all the parts on my wishlist at their site for well over a year. That wishlist is a neat way to dream up a project and then start saving for it.

Hogs and whitetail for sure. It will replace my Super Redhawk .44 Mag when we camp in Yellowstone and Montana. Small step down in power, huge step up in capacity.

I have the same barrel (6.61" I think) on a standard slide (It's my car gun) but am debating getting a long slide for the "melt". That way I don't keep having to remove my Fastfire III when I use my slide in my G2 Roni carbine chassis (with a custom 9" Lone Wolf barrel).

Mike

PS. I'm also an Underwood Ammo fan (180gr XTP). I'd rather know what bullet I am getting even if I have to wait a while than get a random bullet from Buffalo Bore.

I am very pleased with how the "melt" turned out. Combined with the Ameriglo tall sights (suggested by Lowewolf), the red dot sits exactly on top of the front post when sighted it. I not familiar with the Roni chassis, but I'm googling that next!

That's a great point. Actually the ONLY reason that I recently joined Facebook was to "Like" Underwood Ammo so that I would know when they are restocked. Here is a pick that I just posted to their wall.

So, for the tacky question: What was the total damage?
Not sure, my bride bought it for me as a birthday present!

lucent', if that thing is as much fun to shoot as I suspect, it's time to get into reloading. The 10mm is a great reloader's cartridge.

Bride bought that stuff?

You got a good 'un!!

Your Bride bought that??

Yeah, my bride of 27 years! She's a good 'en!

I have a Dillon Square Deal with a set of .40 cal dies. It will do 10, but I haven't set it up yet. I do have the kids scurrying around after every shell so I can stock pile. Interesting thing, my 4.6" stock G20 would fling the empties about 15-20 feet. This rig drops them at your feet. Not sure if this is due to the heavier slide or the compensator.

If you don't stop posting pictures of that thing, I'm gonna be in a "lot" of trouble. Excellent. Like the man said, "Don't drop it". And don't ask me how I know (three days with a metal detector should explain it). Lost something very special chasing a buck. Found it. Happy day.

Awesome G20 long slide! Thanks for the pics & the details.

For some years now, more than a few G20 owners over on GT's 10Ring have been wanting a similar long slide setup. Congrats on yours.

I finally got back home long enough to put a few rounds down range today. Here are three rapid fire shots in slow-mo. These Underwood 220gr hardcast are listed at 1200 fps and normally tend to send the muzzle towards your forehead! I was very happy with the control and think it will get better. These are the first rapid-fire rounds though this rig. Hopefully I can get some chrono time in this weekend and can post the results.
