when i first took my glock 30 to the range the reliability was alright, had a couple ftfeeds, as i continued to shoot it it felt like there was a bump somewhere in the feeding process. after the range and cleaning i hand cycled a few rounds. when hand cycling i discovered the the case mouth was snagging on the front of the magazine body, and it looked like the magazine fed directly into the chamber without even using the feed ramp. i called glock about the snagging issue and mentioned removing some material from the front of the magazine body, they pretty much agreed that it was worth a try. i removed enough material from the magazine body to prevent the snags when hand cycling rounds. another trip to the range and everything is running smoothly. Anyone else have the same problem?

I've heard of .45 Glocks not feeding wadcutters, and even a rare case here and there of them not liking certain popular JHP's, but not like you're describing. I'm interested to hear how it goes at the range next time.

I've had my own issues with Glock's .40 magazines, having to modify them to get them to work right.

It has been to the range a few times since the magazine modifications, and has been 100 percent reliable. All ammo being factory remington, federal, or winchester, hollowpoints or fmj.

I've had two FTF in my G30 and I attributed them to improperly crimped handloads. Actually one of them was a FTRTB. So I started using the factory crimp die again and we'll see what happens this weekend. I'm pretty confident I will not see the issue repeat.

Isn't the G30 a great compact pistol? I love mine.

I agree the glock 30 is an excellent pistol. accurate, high round count for its size, low recoil, reliable (after the magazine mod), what's not to like.

Glad you got it resolved.

I've heard of .45 Glocks not feeding wadcutters,
The issues with wadcutters (SWC) in the 30 is not feeding, it's extracting the spent case over a SWC in the magazine.
With other bullets, just a little taper crimp, .002" or so, really smoothes things out in a 30.
I like the 30, but love the 29.
