I just picked up a Glock 45 MOS and have ordered a Vortex Venom red dot, looking for advice on which suppressor height iron sights to order.

Try it for a while with the standard front sight or ideally with it removed. I find the irons to be a distraction and they occlude an already small window more. But if you decide you want to use backup irons, lots of shops make them. Ameriglo are popular if you want to confuse your sight picture even more ;)

I will do that, thank you for the advice.

I will possibly using this at a GSSF match, is the 3moa the right choice for 5-25 yards?
There are two factors operating. Distance and speed. Normally you use smaller dots at long range so that the dot won’t cover a huge portion of the target and larger dots close up where most self defense occurs. But if your shooting isn’t rushed, especially if follow up shots are not based on speed, you might as well use a small dot close up too. Larger dots are easier to locate, but the smaller the dot, the more precise will be your aim at any distance. If the dot appears larger than your aim point, precision is automatically sacrificed.

It depends on what you like. I have both 3.25 MOA and 6.5 or whatever the larger RMR is. Both work well and are visible. The smaller dot shows more tremor and it might bother some people. They make 1MOA versions now which are apparently worse for that but some people love them. They allow more precise shooting at longer ranges and cover up less of the window. Try a couple out of you can and see what you like best.

I did the ameriglo tall supressor sights on my 34 MOS with the viper. They are just barely rall enough. Lower 1/3 of the window. 20190823_004149.jpg

I have put about 500 rounds through the gun and done a bunch of dry fire practice, I will not be putting any sights on it. I am still not 100% getting the dot on target quickly but with practice I think i will get it.
