Ok, I know these discussions of this over that have been debated a lot. But having a hard time choosing still. I feel the need to upgrade to a larger handgun as my current Shield 9 is just a tad too small in my hands. I am going to have to learn to conceal a larger gun as that's what I shoot best.

With that being said I have shot and like both the G19 and P320. I shot best with the P320 and leaning towards it but was wondering if there's any reason I should go with Glock over the Sig? It will remain stock. But I like the magazine options and capability of Glock with other firearms. But as I said I shot the P320 best.

I prefer Glocks over Sigs, but if you shoot the P320 better, then go with that.

Back in 2007, I had an M&P fullsize and compact and an XD fullsize and compact and needed to pick just one platform. Shot them all side by side over and over and noticed I did slightly better with the M&Ps. Went with them.

Same as the Glock vs. Sig choice; both are very close in quality and advantages/disadvantages, so pick whatever you shoot better.

It is a decision only you can make Which model 320?? Compact?

Both are good.

The Glock 19 dimensions make it easier to conceal than the P320 Compact for IWB if that is a concern. Not sure how much time you have spent shooting both and how much better you can shoot the P320 than the Glock 19 though. It took me a little longer to shoot better with my Glock 19 than my other compact pistols but now it is the best shooter for me out of all of them.

I have a number of glocks and a couple sig 320s (and the 22x series guns which I greatly prefer) . I prefer the Glock to the 320 . Both the design and the company policies. The only thing I like better on the 320 is the trigger. I tend to not like the 19/23 size in a glock. I carry a full size for OWB or shoulder holster or a subcompact (27) for IWB. The Glock (gen 3 and earlier is what I have most experience with) has one of, if not the, best finish for sweaty, rough use I've ever found.
That said, I'd trust either one and shoot both equally well. The glock fits me better, and points better for me. I'd focus on fit first and price of upkeep/mags etc second, since both are equal guns in my opinion.

Then the poll is irrelevant. If you shot the Sig better, buy the Sig.

Not necessarily. I shoot far better with my xvr or desert eagle or single actions than I do my G27 or my duty guns. Concealability is important too. The flat, slim, light Glock concealed better to me than those others. I'll mic my 320 tonight and see the actual width compared to the 1.145 of the Glock. My 320s are full size or I'd weigh them side by side.

I do need to pick up a striker fired HK though. All my HK are DA/SA.

I tried a G48. The single stacks I think are just too thin for my hands. I am definitely leaning towards SIG for accuracy but at same time the kool aid tastes good lol!

I was the same way with single stacks. But the G48 is more of a stack and a half and is enough wider to make a difference. I was going to pick up a Sig P365XL but decided to stick with what I know and like which are Glocks, and picked up a G48. I find it's thickness to be perfect, single stacks always wanted to move around in the hand.

I would've chose G19 in your poll, but since you said you shoot the Sig better, it seems like the logical choice if you can conceal either one.

I guess I should have said, IMO. I agree that concealability is really important, but that's a factor only the person carrying the gun can address since body shape really comes into play. A person can also dress around a gun if they give it thought when clothing shopping. Availability of holsters should always be considered also before narrowing it down to one gun or another.

So IMO, a person should choose between guns they feel confident they can conceal and carry daily and that consideration should always come before a question of this type. I assume, perhaps incorrectly, the OP already has considered concealability. Therefore a person's ability to shoot a particular model best should be the deciding factor. But like I said, that's just an opinion.

Interesting poll is for Glock so far but responses is "go with what you shoot best". However concealablity is a factor. I find I usually like to carry in leather holster either IWB or more prefer OWB pancake style with untucked shirt or over shirt.

The Sig is a good gun, no doubt. The Army wouldn't have adopted it as the M17/18 if it wasn't. If you shoot it better, then absolutely go with Sig. I did and have no regrets but I went with the black M17 version. Personal preference.

That's why I didn't vote.
If carrying OWB then the importance of gun thickness is less of a concern, and concealing either gun the way you describe will be relatively easy.

but that's a factor only the person carrying the gun can address since body shape really comes into play.

I try to explain that to people all the time. It's a very under stated thing. People always ask me how I carry, and what. Most people are a foot shorter and far rounder than I am. A round guy with love handles doesnt have the natural pocket on his side to iwb the guns I do comfortably. I also have less cushion so any protrusion can hurt...bad. the big guys can pocket carry a redhawk while my lack of arse or hips to support my pants would make an naa difficult. what works for me doesn't for them, and vice versa

I was only alluding to the trade off though. I can reliably hit a 12x24 inch Gong at 100 yards with my big glocks, my USP, my 226/220 etc. But I doubt very seriously I could get 2/10 with my G27 that I carry. The 320s I have, have pretty darn good triggers too, so I'd say they are easier to shoot well unless you are used to most striker triggers. Both are close enough in size to really make little difference. The Glock will have every holster or accessory known to man available. The 320 has all the good ones and will only get more. The Glock has that dumb proprietary rail and the sig has a standard rail. The factory siglite sights on my 320 .40 are the brightest ive ever seen, though not the sharpest. Far brighter than my 22x guns with night sights if that matters to you. I'm no fan of night sights and really don't give it much thought. Price is comparable, quality I believe is comparable, accuracy is comparable.
Sig will require you to pay shipping both ways after 3 years even with the lifetime warranty. Glock won't. Both tend to fix anything you could break. Even if it was clearly ignorance. Normal wear parts are cheaper from glock but if you aren't shooting a ton that's no big deal. I don't use aftermarket stuff in 99 percent of my guns so all that makes little difference to me.

I also didn't vote. When people come to me I let them shoot a variety and tell them what I carry if they ask. There are a hell of lot more guns that I'd recommend than guns I'll say I wouldn't carry these days. Fit, accuracy, and concealability for the intended purpose are paramount IMO

My question would be, how many of those voting Glock have actually any experience with the SIG P-320.

I've noted that many Glock guys are not the most adventurous when it comes to experimenting with other platforms, sticking almost exclusively with Glocks. Especially the younger and/or newer shooters.

Whereas, my casual survey of my crew indicates that all of those who've gravitated toward SIGs have quite a bit of experience with Glocks.

I once was issued the Glock 23 for a duty pistol. It was okay, but did nothing for me. We then went to H&K, and from there to another polymer-framed striker-fired pistol, which even a lot of the former Glock fans decided they liked (especially the latest version).

To answer the OP, I'd echo those who say, "get what you shoot best." Frankly, I believe (and this is purely subjective, of course) that the 320 (how about the 320 Carry as an example) has better ergonomics, a much better trigger, and far better factory sights than the Glock 19 (which seems to be all the Glocksters' favorite flavor these days).

At the end of the day though, it's only what you think about the gun, who cares what others prefer?

A 12" x 24" plate would be easy at 100yds with my G26...
I shoot a 10" round plate at 80yds and hit it most of the time.

I'll have to try it. See how many I can get. I tend to shoot my 27 indoors. If at the house outdoors I almost always shoot a fullsize or big bore. That said I've shot with many trained LE guys who couldn't hit a 12x24 at 100 with a full mag in their duty gun.

IMO, those are very comparable/substitutable guns. If you happen to like one better than the other, or shoot one better than the other, then you're not really giving anything up picking it over the other.

It sounds like you should choose the 320. I would choose Glock, because that is what I have and I shoot it just fine. I guess I'm in the "if it ain't broke don't fix it" crowd.

Get the gun you want and shoot it! You can learn to shoot Glocks, Sigs, S&W’s, etc. well.

The whole “what fits your hand” argument is overdone IMO.

You gonna swap out to the next thing that feels good in your hand? That you shoot subjectively better?

Look, I’m not trying to be a prick, I’m just saying that you can and will adapt to either gun with enough good practice and qualify instruction.

Oh, and that said...get the Glock! LOL!

You probably shot the Sig better because the Glock triggers suck? The Glock is like shooting a "staple gun"
Which why there are so many aftermarket triggers connectors, springs and other stuff.

I replaced the connector on my G19 which helped a lot, but not enough. Ended up replacing the whole trigger assembly which made it a whole different gun. Even so It is not one of my favorites. A fine gun but it is still just a Glock.
