Going Tribal

on the discovery channel,there is a marathon of a travel show called going tribal. i have onlywatched 2 episodes,they visit herdsmen and their families in mongolia. they go on a wolf hunt,and they are armed with several styles of m-ns',at least one sks,one smle i think,and others too breif to identify. the other episode they visitthe suri people of sw ethiopia. men and women with no clothes,some women still have plates in their lower lips.would be considered way out in the country around here. anyway,thesefolks are incrdible stick fighters,and any martial artist,and maybe some baseball players would enjoy watching this.they have territorial fueds with other tribes where this art comes in handy. they did not have guns till the civil war in the sudan started[don't know when] anyway their enemys got aks' first and slaughterd these people. the Suri have AKs' themselves know, and the border has been re-established. one of the Suri women said a lot of guns are good otherwise all their cattle would be stolen.at the finalsof the stick fighting,someone shoots he ak. nobody is hit,and this is a shame, the host says he does'nt know if the tribe can wither the introduction of firearms,when it has been convincingly proven none of these people or there cattle would ave been ther w/o the Aks. all things considered,the series seems worth watching.

I've seen a few of these, and they are quite interesting to watch even if only a few have firearms. The host does a couple of spiritual journeys using native adulterants, none of which look like a whole lot of fun. Unless of course one's idea of fun is puking your guts outs. Repeatedly

I think a better title might be "Invasion of the Stupid White Man."

I actually liked "Going Tribal"! I actually watched every episode! The guy was a tool but I thought it was funnny when he was doing certain tribes drugs! He was f'd up a few times!

While I think the sure is pretty good, I am more happy with the fact that Discovery Channel is going back to their "roots" if you will. For a while, all they were playing was that home decorating bull-crap

+1 on that. If I want to watch home decorating shows, I'll go to HGTV or whatever its called these days. Discovery is about cool CGI of Dinosours, sciene programs and wildlife shows that don't sanitize the facts of life along the African Rivers.
