Got a Springfield XDM-9...

Picked up a Springfield Armory XDM-9 yesterday loally for $599 and took it to the range today. Put 200 rounds through it without any problems whatsoever. It handles nicely and is a good fit in my hand. The 19 round magazine didn't weigh the pistol down like I was afraid it would. Recoil was mild compared to other 9mm I've fired in the past.
Bought it for work (just got hired on with a security firm until the economy comes back) so its a write off which makes it even sweeter.

Critical Intervention Services (CIS), pretty good set up they got (not your typical mall rent a cop outfit). Hoping to eventually get into their Anti-Terrorist unit. Doesn't pay as good as my regular job did but it pays the bills.

Looking at one pretty hard myself. I heard that you can buy the .40 XDM and then get a 9mm barrel so you can shoot both rounds. Is there any truth to that?

How did you like the trigger? Is it better than the XD?

i don't see why you couldn't you can do it for the standard xd's, and as a matter of fact, you can use the .40 mags to feed the 9mm and be just fine too. all you need is a conversion barrel.
