I have ROA that has the pawl plunger stuck.
( which by the way is the very same design/parts as a Blackhawk )
I've been soakin it fer a while with no success.
The spring is still in there but it is stuck in the plunger.
I can't push the plunger free from the spring end because the pawl has to be removed to allow clearence for the plunger to come out and with the plunger stuck where it's at,it prevents the pawl from bein removed.
I have replacement parts so i'm not concerned about damaging the existing spring or plunger.
Anyone know any 'kinks' for gittin this thing out ?

Usually once the backstrap is removed, you can capture the spring with pliers or a screw and pull it and the plunger out together. If the plunger is stuck forward, just tapping the pawl (hand) will usually free it.

Thanx Jim,screw in the spring..good idea. I'll give that a try with a drywall screw.
I'll try tappin the pawl also.
Thank you.

Turn the spring counterclockwise while pulling on it & it'll come rite off.

Maybe dip that area in boiling hot water. The hole might expand more than the plunger.

Then, if the plunger isn't jammed tite against the pawl (hand), tap the plunger a bit forward to break it loose.

Then cut a strip off a sheet of .040'' brass, narrow enuff, & long enuff, to slide up in behind the pawl. Long taper the end of the brass, like a door jam shim. The end of the plunger is round. Maybe you can tap the brass wedge up between the pawl & the plunger, & force the plunger back enuff to get the pawl out. If the brass bends, switch to steel.

If ya havn't already got it out.
