I'm using trail boss powder but have yet to find any real accurate loads for Lee 200 grain SWC, NEI 429235 that drops at 245 grains, and Lyman #429215 at 220 grains.

I really like how clean this powder is, it blows out dirty barrels from other filthy powders like Bullseye, Unique.

Any suggestions on loads?

Thanks, Jim

I have two loads for you that I have taken off the IMR Website:
44 Special / 240 gr LRNFP/ Start 4.0 gr / Max 5.2 gr / WLP
45 Colt / 250 gr LRNFP / Start 4.5 gr / Max 5.8 gr / WLP
IMR does list lighter bullet loads in both calibers but I have just listed the two most common lbullet weights. Hope these loads help you out. Good shooting! :)

Thanks, Loadedround, however, I was hoping for some time tested loads that produce accurate results from someone who's found them.

I will persevere with loading until I find something at the loading bench that will show consistent accuracy.

OK, made it to the range today, shot some 200 grain Lee SWC with HP, they did pretty good and I'm happy with that load...so Trail Boss can be accurate if you work at it.

Some other loads like 4.5 grains of Trail Boss with Lyman #429244 bullets that drop from the mould at 262 to 265 grains, really surprised me shooting them out of my Taurus 441 in .44 special...the load was a moderate 730 fps. But I should have held POA at six o'clock, as it grouped high around 4 - 5 inches with over 20 shots.
