Went pig hunting last week and bagged a little oinker. I captured it on video. We just bought a new Sony digital camcorder. It uses the little cassette looking tapes. Is there a way to download this so I can e-mail it to my buddies? Or a place I can download it to and then send a link? I am new at this movie stuff- I got the still pictures down, though.

I'm assuming it's a miniDV camcorder. It should have a firewire port which will allow you to pipe video onto your PC. WinXP should have built in capability to do this, but I'm not sure what format it will give you. I use Pinnacle Studio. You will want to capture it as an MPEG file.

You may need to tinker with the resolution and length of the clip(s) to end up with a file size that is practical for people to download.

A tiny bit late

If your camera has it you might be able to use the USB out port. If you computer has USB2 this can be quite an effective way to save video from your camera to your computer.

I personally use a firewire capture card for my videos on my homepage purly because i only have USB1. With this option im able to grab the video from my tapes and save them to my harddrive then convert them to DVD and save them on a dvd disk or convert them to wmv and throw them up on my homepage.
