I'm cross posting here.

Folks, I have an 03A3 with what I BELIEVE is a Williams 5D rear aperture site, and I can't figure out how to adjust it for elevation. There are two screws to be loosened on the top of the sight that allow it to be adjusted for windage, but I'm stumped on how to deal with the rest of the screws on the thing. There're 2 screws on the side, and I presume one is what holds the base to the receiver, but I don't know which. Further, it's still not clear, if I DID know which screw to loosen, what to do next. I feel foolish...

I can't help you but you might try posting your problem over at Battlerifles.com or Jouster.com. Even if the Williams isn't issue, someone there might have experience with it.

I found the williams sight site :D but I could find nothing on their old stuff. I'll email 'em and see if they have any help.

Digging around in the old memory bank, I will say to take a look and see if one of those screws has a light colored ring around it. If so, it is the screw that loosens to move the sight slide up or down for elevation. Move it up far enough and it comes out. There are two screws that hold the sight on. One you see, the other is under the sight elevation slide and can be seen when it comes out.

The 5D sight sold for 5 dollars, which is where it got the name. It was an inexpensive sight, without knobs or click adjustments. You just loosened the appropriate screw and moved the sight, and then tightened the screw again.

Thanks, Jim. I'll have a go at loosening that one and see if I can creep it up a skosh. No response from Williams, BTW.
