Great news for Rocky Mountain Reloading In-house Manufactured Jacketed Bullets

Our biggest issue in getting the USPSA and IPSC market share is that if you can afford some of those open guns, you can usually afford to buy loaded ammo. The guys who reload usually already have a load that they know works great for them so they don't want to change. This at least helps us get into the market and maybe helps us get those guys still using MG to give us a try.

" The guys who reload usually already have a load that they know works great for them so they don't want to change."
This doesn't take into account the cheapness factor of almost every reloader :scrutiny:
They'll switch bullets in a heart beat to save a penny:D
sorry for what I typed there,
:uhoh:
:)

I agree and I think Jake may be underestimating his potential customer base.

While top tier national/regional match shooters may be less inclined to change their match ammunition/components, reality for the rest of the tens of thousands of match shooters shooting various action pistol and bullseye matches lack sponsorship and must pay for their own match ammunition. And most of them reload to save money over buying factory match ammunition (Have you priced what Atlanta Arms match ammunition costs?)

When I shot USPSA matches in the 90s with Montana Gold jacketed bullets, I shot anywhere from 1000 to 4000+ rounds a month as I was learning and practicing a lot. During this time, after testing several powders, I used W231 and WSF due to recoil impulse I preferred to get back faster on targets/sights but many other match shooters used Titegroup because they could use the smallest powder charges to save .3 - .5+ gr per round.

They told me when you are shooting well in excess of 15,000-20,000+ rounds a year, every little bit adds up.

And we all know RMR bullets cost less than Montana Gold bullets. As the news of ELEY using RMR bullets for their new line of match ammunition spreads, even those longtime users of MG bullets may change to RMR, not just to save money but to possibly decrease group size which is of particular interest to bullseye match shooters.

OK, had wife select a number from 1 to 18 and she chose 4.
  • Atlanta Arms - ArchAngelCD/ATLDave
So ArchAngel and ATLDave, PM me your choice of RMR in-house manufactured bullets (I have all of them) or any other brand/caliber bullets I have.

You can select several.

Let me know.

Oh poop I was thinking about them crossed them off
so no joy there....
Eley 22 and pellets so no to them
Eagle Eye rifle only...
Nexus Rifle only,,,

Didn't realize Eley made any centerfire pistol ammo....

Congrats to Jake and RMR.
All the .40 guys would probably love to see a .40 MW same for the .45 guys.
Hopefully RMR will use the MW bullet profile for those two.

Interesting that Eley is using the RN, both the MPRs and MWs shot better for me but then I don't have a slick .38 Super open gun.

Likely for reliable feeding/chambering as match barrels tend to have tighter chambers. Atlanta Arms who manufactures match ammunition for various match teams, including US Army AMU, makes their Elite match ammunition with FMJ/RN bullets.
ELEY said:
... Round Nose copper metal jacketed 124 grn bullet offer superb reliability magazine ... and feeding.

BTW, I asked Walkalong to close this thread as there are several pages of our "contest" chatter and started a new thread to discuss reloading with "ELEY match grade" RMR bullets - https://www.thehighroad.org/index.p...ine-of-match-ammunition.854750/#post-11201900

Please post your comments on the new thread.

Thanks!
