gun buy backs?

any of u guys ever go to gun buy backs with signs and just buy them for more than the police pays? i have heard of some story's about crazy rare collectibles being sold too police for a $50 gift card. not sure if this is the right place

It's been done by various groups in different locations from time to time, with varying results. Not a bad idea if you've got the cash to pull it off.
