Anybody else have practical gun dreams (even if they're completely unrealistic)?
I now have dreams involving my two carry guns (LCP and M&P 40C) every few weeks. The bothersome part is that I always have a hard time pulling the trigger (due to sheer trigger pull) with my LCP, though I always manage to get the shot off at the very last second. Meanwhile, I've never had a dream involving difficulties shooting the M&P.

Nearly every gun dream I have is the same--I can't hit the target (whether it's a bullseye or a bad guy, usually the latter) no matter how hard I try or how many times I fire. :banghead: There are some exceptions, though. Just the other night, I dreamt that I was doing something with the outdoor faucet on the side of my house when all of a sudden this guy appears in the yard next door with a Ruger .22 pistol of all things, and points it straight at me over the fence. I ran for cover along the fence before he could fire, and discovered that I was unarmed. Then I woke up.

Yes, they're all nightmares--I wish that I had good dreams about guns, but that has never happened so far. Fortunately real life has been far more kind to me with regard to firearms. :)

Yes, usually it involves shooting the bad guy a bunch of times without any effect or not being able to pull the trigger no matter how hard I try.

Years ago I ate a LARGE pepperoni pizza and went to bed. I dreamed in slow motion a giant pizza was rolling after me (picture the big round rock in the Indiana Jones movie) shooting pepperonis at me like buzz saw blades. The funny thing was that as I was running away as fast as I could, I kept looking over my shoulder trying to see the guns in the pizza that were shooting the pepperonis at me.

I am physically unable to pull the trigger in ANY gun dream i've had all my life. It's not always lack of strength, it can be in a weird "dreamy" way that the trigger doesn't work. I'm sure you know what i mean.

i am amazed by how common this is

I had an extremely violent dream (worst that I remember) that involved a gun being used and I was the victim. The bg had no problem pulling the trigger.

This came right on the heels of my CCW course. Not sure if there was a connection, but I don't discount it.

Had a couple dreams where I ran out of ammo at embarrasing moments. I try to avoid that in real life. Usually have 30 or so rounds of rifle loads on me whan out tooling around in the hills, and about that in pistol rounds.

read this thread last night and promptly had a gun dream.

Dreamed i was scuba diving in lake pleasant and started finding things. golf balls at first(which has actually happened) and then bigger things, among them an old cap and ball single shot pistol and a Korth 357 revolver :what:. the cap and ball was rusted, but the Korth was some how magically in pristine shape, except for some sand that needed cleaned out. So i spent all this time carefully dissembling it and cleaning the sand out and put it back together , oiling it as i went. it was the most fun I had ever had cleaning a gun. I pulled the amazing smooth trigger, and then heard my daughter crying....in real life. I woke up and was shortly disappointed upon realizing my new gun was imaginary :banghead:

Was at a friend's home with my old green Chevy station wagon parked about 300' away on the side of the road at a stop sign. As I walked toward it there were about 15-20 "toughs" beating my windows out with sticks. I pulled my old trusty 1911 with 7 rds in it and shouted at them to freeze-first one to move would die. All of them magically pulled these street sweeper types of weapons with machine gun belts of ammo(looked like a scene from Matrix as the police entered on the young guy holding the machine shotguns with rotary mags). There was a wall of lead coming at me as I woke with a start feeling for holes. LOL, have tried to always have extra mags on or near me since then.

I have the can't pull the trigger one too..so do a ton of guys I shoot with...weird..maybe it's a Freud thing . ;)
