Gun heavily fouled up

I have a second hand CZ 75 that doesn't look like it was very well maintained by the previous owner(s). There are black deposits everywhere inside the slide and on the barrel.

Here's the inside of the frame, it's got a coppery hue to it and I just can't get rid of it.

Here's the inside of the slide. Doesn't matter how long I soak that stuff for, it doesn't come off.

Finally, the barrel, which should be a nice shiny metallic colour, right?

I'm using Brunox Turbo spray and nothing else. Do I need something stronger or a change of method? Apologies for the poor quality of the photos, they don't quite show just how dirty the gun is.
 
Doesn't look dirty to me.

It looks like thats the color it was when it came out of the bluing tank.

I don't know what Brunox Turbo spray is.

But if it is a degreaser, oil it again and see what it looks like.

I'm with RC. Those pictures show a gun that's cleaner than both of my carry guns (which get cleaned regularly).
 
I think you might be looking at the finish. The shiny bits (the metallic color you mention on the barrel) are not the color the entire barrel should be, but are simply the points where the finish has become worn from use. I don't see anything in those photos that makes me think there's grime. The barrel on my XD45 looks very similar after I've fired several hundred rounds through it and I clean that after every range session. I think it's just normal wear and the original finish for those interior areas was the black color you see.
 
Encouraging responses, I've no problems with the gun itself, no malfunctions of any kind in nearly 1000 rounds through it.

I don't quite understand here, what colour should the barrel be? (let's say, a brand new barrel)
 
Your barrel was obvously blued when new.

Now, after nearly 1,000 rounds some of the bluing is wearing off.

That is perfectly normal wear for any auto pistol barrel, regardless of who made it.

You worry too much.
There is nothing wrong with your gun a little oil on the finish & moving parts won't fix.

Your barrel should be black (or whatever the color of the finish is on the outside of your pistol). The lighter areas are simply where the finish has been scraped off with use. It's totally normal.
 
Your pictures lack enough detail to see anything out of the ordinary. Just keep everything oiled and enjoy shooting it.
 
The finish inside the frame and slide is supposed to be black. If it's an old pre"B" model then it was sort of a black oxide or some form of parkerized finish. I've got one and can't figure out which it is. But I lean towards black oxide as opposed to being blued.

If you think that the finish still has a coating of gunk in the corners they try some gentle but firm scrubbing with a brass bristle brush. If the solvent you're using comes away dirty from that then it was caked up fouling. But from where I'm sitting it doesn't seem bad.

I would not bother polishing the barrel. Most method involve the removal of some amount of metal. And that simply promotes adding some small amount of play to the barrel lugs and barrel to slide nose fit.
 
Looks like residue of the black polymer/epoxy/testors paint crap mine was coated in when brand new. Most of it floated free when I had it overseas and the only thing I could find to clean the gooed up rascal was some third-world dish soap and very-very hot water. It was such a thick coating that the lettering on the pistol looked like cast in lettering on cheap aluminum framed guns. Once the awful finish dissolved away (how dirty could their dishes get to sell soap like that?:banghead:) I saw that the lettering was as crisp as I've come to expect from CZ.

This was one of the original non-import 75's.
 
You could always get or take it to someone with an ultrasonic cleaner. The only down side is you have to re-oil/grease everything.
 
I don't know what that Brunox spray is either, but when you apply it to your firearm, after some scrubbing, what color are the white patches? If you're still getting black or blue, then you need to keep cleaning.

If they remain white, you are done.

Nope. Everything's fine. My 75B and SP-101 both look like this. The inside of the slide and frame don't have any finish (which is a paint) and that coppery hue is probably just the color of the steel after heat treatment.
 
It looks from the photos like it could stand additional cleaning but nothing serious. Solvent and a soft bronze brush should do it, then rinse and rinse again to get out all the debris. Grease it, oil it, assemble it and shoot it!
 
Newer CZs -- the last couple of years -- have their barrels "carburized," which is a type of surface hardening treatment. It looks dark and grungy, but is the residue of the hardening process. You CAN polish it off, and the surface is still hardened, but I'm not sure I'd bother.
