Even with the Hughes Amendment, U.S. (federal) law is more permissive regarding machine guns than practically all of the rest of the world. To find a better law on civilian ownership of machine guns, you'd have to go to places like Somalia or Yemen.
Switzerland and Estonia are probably more permissive.
Czech Republic is a special apple - anyone stubborn enough would probably get court decision overruling negative may issue police department ruling, but any person willing to go through that simply gets gun dealer's license and suddenly full auto funs become shall issue for him. Yes there is a red tape but getting through it is quite straight forward. (Just that then the person is not considered civilian for the statistical purposes but rather a professional).
Anyway your's line of argumentation is weird. I started by pointing out that your SCOTUS as well as other courts have been ignoring "SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED" for quite some time now and that this is real issue for US gun owners, not which government sits in the White House (maybe I should have been more precise, but I thought that given that this is gun forum my message is clear). You come back at me saying that the infringements are not so bad, you are still better off than most people elsewhere. Well, whatever makes you happy I guess.
