After receiving a response email from sen.sanders, i posted it up here to be of help to others... well after reading over it a few more times i decided that it would be necessary/a good idea to send a copy to gun owners of America, and seeing as many views and the fact that it labeled a sticky (thanks for the sticky mods
) i figured that i'd post the letter i sent, and the response letter from gun owners, again i will blank out private data for obvious reasons. sorry ahead of time for the long post i hope it proves helpful, and or interesting

First off, thank you for defending our gun rights, not compromising to any b.s. legislation, and thank you for making the take action link so easy to use. I recently sent the pre-written letters(of which i found very well written) off to my representatives and i really didn't think id get a response, but low and behold i got a feel-good liberal response from (Edited) sen.sanders, as such i felt it my duty as a proud gun owner, and American to send a copy just in case you had not revived word of it yet. i hope that it is useful. thank you again and long live the republic

I appreciate your favorable comments on our suggested letters, which of course you are free to edit as you wish or send as is. Our suggested letters cover all the necessary talking point we think should be covered as you see fit.
Senator Sander’s letter brags about passing the NICS Improvement Act that became law to prevent “crazies” from creating mass tragedies of the recent sort:
“…As your United States Senator, I strongly supported the NICS Improvement Act of 2007, which was passed by unanimous consent in the Senate and is now public law. This law, which had the support of the National Rifle Association, has changed the National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS) to require information sharing between state and federal law enforcement agencies and authorizes the development of computer systems to catch potential gun-buyers with a history of mental illness and who continue to pose a threat to the public...”
It is patently obvious his law, as with most gun laws, did not work.
I have forwarded your note to my supervisor.
