First....thank you Larry Ashcraft for the speedy approval.

Stolen from the parking lot at Dicks Sporting Goods on 12-4-09 Ruger m77MKII stainless rifle in .270 Win. SN 780-43941 with a Leupold 3-9 scope SN 219989D oil finished laminated stock. This was a smash and grab deal, they broke the rear window out of a GMC Envoy and grabbed his gun case containing rifle and assorted hunting gear while he was shopping inside......passing along any info. that someone stumbles into would be greatly appreciated.....I put this rifle together for a hunters safety graduation present 15 years ago, and he has shot literally everything he has ever tagged with this rifle....it is a member of the family and we want it back!......Thanks in advance for your efforts.

Sucks.

Good luck but you have to realize how astronomical the odds are against someone who reads this will happen upon this rifle... and recall the info.

But just in case, if anyone happens across these taken from my home in June of 1986 (just to show how rare it is to get one back) I would appreciate hearing about it.

I hope your son's rifle gets recovered, coyote.
We'll keep an eye open.

I agree that chances are slim to none, however I did have three handguns stolen from my house once and one of them was recovered 2 years later. The two that haven't resurfaced were unfired, collector items. I know how you must feel.

Never say never------my s&w mod 19 was recovered and returned 16 yrs after it was stolen from my locked cabinet.

Wishing you the same good fortune in getting your rifle back.

I still have hope. I have gotten four back, so far. That's out of 20. Three came home in the first year and the last one 17 years later. It can happen... but the odds are not good.

I do wish c.latrans the best of luck. Like I said, it sucks.

You know, you hope there is some karma floating around out there for lots of reasons. Back when I was working my way through school (a LONG time ago) I drove a wrecker. I towed an abandoned vehicle for the hiway patrol. After I hooked up and pulled it out of the ditch, I jumped out to give things a final eyeball before heading out. I found a .22 revolver which had been hastily hidden in a shallow hole under a rear tire.....when I pulled the vehicle out the gun became exposed. I turned it over to the HP and was told if it wasn't claimed and if the numbers were clean it would become mine in due course. I later learned that it had been a stolen gun that was returned to its owner. Time will tell.....

That stinks, sorry for your loss. My were a lost in tragic boating accident. They ain't never coming back. ;)
