Gun vote unlikely to happen

April 8th is supposed to be when the Senate votes on the gun control package, including the UBC, but that might not happen.

FTA:

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid originally vowed to bring a gun control bill up for a vote when Congress returns from recess next week, but sources said Reid doesn't have the 60 votes needed to break a Republican filibuster of the legislation.

Reid was also down 10 points the week of his re-election. Keep the pressure up.

Not that I would say he's on our side, but watching his actions the past few months he at least isn't straight out attacking us Feinstein style. He could have done a lot more damage in the position that he's in.

Reid supports gun owners only enough to get re-elected. He has no desire to uphold the 2nd amendment as written and intended by our founders.

From what I've seen, he seems to be willing to both limit capacity and "assault features". He did, however, support at least in opinion, the creation of a public gun range near Las Vegas. I haven't researched his actual contribution to it's construction, but he at least supports recreational shooting.

Like you said C4 he supports us enough to cover his butt. Better than jumping on the 'feel good wagon' completely.

I wonder if they will still vote on this. Every stalled Bill is good for us but part of me just wants it over with (not that many of us will ever stop at trying to keep our Rights).

They are not doing this already.


feinstein an Reid are two entirely different beasts. She has enough powe and support in her base to act on her convictions and her own principles. Reid does not. He just does what will barely keep him elected. It has nothing to do with personal beliefs. His own personal beliefs on gun control do not matter.

At any case our focus has to be with individual state governments as one by one they r passing anti gun laws. It's been 3 so far in just 3 months, not including the perpetual offenders like Kalifonia, NJ, Mass, Illinois, etc.

Write another round to your reps, reinforce the fact that they need to OPPOSE any further gun control including the UBC.
