They have stiff cowhide belts on sale. The 1 1/2" belt blank is 4506-00 (most pants have 1 1/2" loops) for $9.99 (Regular price, $14.99.). An excellent buckle to go with this belt blank is 1588-00, nickle cut corner buckle, 1 3/4" (works fine on 1 1/2" belt) for $1.99. (Regular price, $7.99.)
The buckle end is already cut and the snaps installed -- you do have to punch the tongue holes to fit your waist and cut off the excess.
These blanks are light tan -- if you want a different color, leather dye (3 oz bottle with dauber) is $3.99 (regular price $5.99.) There are plenty of colors to choose. I went with 2100-05, light brown.
Total price with shipping about $20.00. Compare that to over $100 without shipping for a custom gunbelt.
Buy three or four blanks -- you have enough dye for all, and the buckle will last forever -- and you won't need another gunbelt for years.
