Gunbroker Seller Shenanigans

I found a Springfield SOCOM on GB and went for the $1,200 buy it now. It's been about two months now and I have not heard anything yet, guess he changed his mind.

You mean you purchased the gun via buy it now and you've heard nothing from the seller?

You need to contact gunbroker about it, even though they have a terrible reputation for resolving problems.

The seller immediately raised his price once he thought the OP was going to buy/someone was actually interested.

^this

Seriously has anybody ever put something on GB or Ebay later to realize they put the wrong price? It isn't like you click a button with preset prices and it adds a price. You have to type a price in there.
The seller didn't do anything he wasn't allowed to do but, I would just move along. Let some other sucker play "the game" with him.

"Perspective Buyer's"

I have people that I spend countless hours with trying too be couretous;
only to have 'em tell me things like, "Well I will be back payday" or "I have
gott'a run too the bank right quick"- only to have them fill the gap of "NO
SHOW'S"~!

So YES, "Perspective Buyer" means very little in the firearms business.
I must have had a thousand of these kind's during the holiday season of '09~! :( :cuss:

I disagree entirely. The seller advertised a product and received an inquiry from the OP. The seller immediately raised his price once he thought the OP was going to buy/someone was actually interested.

That's juvenile, cheap and unethical, regardless how you people try to redefine ethics.

I agree 100%

I have since emailed the seller and they said they just made a mistake. Yeah Right!
The item just sits there now.... LOL Oh well, they can sucker someone else.

Thanks for all the replies,
Sky

If you make a mistake listing on Ebay--you are a retard. There are a lot of jerks in the world--Why would you give them your money?

The thing about GunBroker and places like it is that all sorts of folks offer products for sale, and all sorts of folks frequent the place -- but in no instance that I know of does anyone force anyone else to participate in the buying and selling. If you think that someone is treating you shabbily, move along; plenty of other sellers are out there, just as there are plenty of other buyers out there. GunBroker, Auction Arms, etc., are not one-size-fits-all operations; neither are the folks who frequent them.

Have you notice how much stuff is list on Gunbroker that never is bid on? So many of the starting prices are crazy. How Blaser are ever sold on Gunbroker?

Some of these are dealers with brick and mortar storefronts. They're overpriced in the store and price GB accordingly. They just leave it there. I've seen some of the same merch for a couple of years. Ridiculous.
