Hello. I recently reviewed a protoype holster made by Eric Larsen of H.B.E. holsters. I liked it so much that I bought it for use with my CZ-75 Pre-B. I later ordered one for my 9x18mm Makarov with the "Beast Slide," i.e., Novak sights.
A package came in the mail today and in it was a very nice black holster. It came precisely the way I ordered it.
Here's a picture of the holster and pistol. Note that the holster does cover the gun's muzzle, i.e., nothing protruding. The holster fit is quite snug and the pistol does not move around at all in the holster.
From the rear it's obvious that there's plenty of stitching for long life and the piece of leather that goes behind the belt is plenty thick. (The prototype was a bit light or thin, but that is NOT the case here.)
Leather-covered spring steel holds the top of the holster open and reholstering does not require two hands....
In the position I'd wear it, you can see that the holster turns the gun inward toward the body. Even a light button-up shirt worn over the T-shirt would and does cover the rig and pistol.
The gun fits tightly in this new holster and the first couple of attempts at holstering required considerable pressure. Even so, the pistol came out just fine when seeing how the presentation would go. After several holsterings, there's still a very firm fit and "grip" on the holster, but draws are effortless. Taking the holster off and holding it upside down with the pistol inside showed not the least tendency for the gun to fall out. There's plenty of clearance for the higher than normal fixed sights I have on the Bulgarian Makarov that's pictured, but the holster works just as well with my stock E. German Makarov, too.
