Dear THR:
I am in need of the opinions on the H&K 45 Tactical and some information thereto.

I want to know where in the US can I find one in 'mustard like color' and with all accessories?

I request opinions on its accuracy, reliability, ergonomics and general experience that you may want to share.

How does it compare to the USP in said aspects?

Thank you

Flat Dark Earth was only on the prototype guns. There is a group buy going on over at HKPro for the compact version with the FDE frame, but as far as I know that has not come to fruition yet. Sometimes group buys actually go through, and other times they completely unravel and fall apart. Since you are overseas I'd say your chances of getting any HK45 in that color frame are ZERO.

I have a one in the flat dark earth with matching ballistic nylon case two additional mags etc...

I've had no problems with the gun. It is fairly large for my hands, but the controls are all within reach. The target sights are very large and easy to acquire.

I have not attached a suppressor to the threaded barrel, so I have no experience with that. I do have the rail adapter on the gun to convert the proprietary HK rail to standard. Spare mags seem to run 50-60 bucks. Otherwise no complaints.

I have a HKUSPc in .45 also and it fits my hands a bit better. Both are very accurate, reliable pistols.

Actually, H&K recently announced the release of colored frame (both FDE and OD) HK45 Tacticals. Coming soon to a dealer near you.

The next question is, do the new frame colors increase the rate of wear, and which of the colors sounds best with a suppressor?

And... is it more or less cool than a SIG 226? 9mm? Or .40/357?

So many questions, so few polls.

Bovice it seems like you are actually enjoying the poll(s) way too much to miss em.

...and 6 months after said "announcement" from a US HK rep, the guns are vaporware.

I really like the HK45, and I am sure the Tac version will be really nice. However, it does loose some ground to the HK USP Tac .45, as it has neither the Match Trigger or the 12 round magazines. Just be aware of that, and buy one when you are able, but there is really no reason to get one unless you want a can also.

I'll let you know next weekend. I went to the range this morning and the 25 yard range was closed for some class.
