Dear THR
I have a problem finding a scope for my HK 91 that provides proper eye relief when I comfortably situate my head on the stock. To get a better eye relief I always have to move my head back until I can clearly look through the scope.

I want to know if this is a common problem with HK 91s or what? Are there specific scopes for it that are short yet powerful enough for 308 ranges? Kindly let me know of possible solutions.

Thanks

If you use one of the ARMS flat top claw mounts, you have a lot more latitude in where you place the scope. The factory claw mounts with the rings position the scope to high and to the rear, which seems to be the German way, but not to my liking.

I had a bunch of different scopes on my 91s, and my favorite was always the Beeman SS-3 1.5x4, followed by a Leupold 1.5x5.

This is the Beeman mounted on the ARMS mount on my MP5. When mounted on the 91, the scope sits centered on top of the mount due to the mounting points on the guns being different.

My solution to this problem (after receiving my scope bite) was adding an inch to the stock. That way I could continue to use my Leupold 3x9.

Biggest issue I run into is making sure the objective bell not only clears the cocking lever in the locked position, but leaves room for my fat mitts as well...
BTW my intended set-up is a MFI low-pro rail and QD scope mount. Anyone have recommendations on which brand of QD mount, in 30mm, is most robust and allows good return to zero?
