so a local pawn shop has a older H&R 6shot .22 revolver. it has a compact like grip. the blueing is ok and the grips are in good condition. they are asking $119.99 for it. but i think i can get it out the door for $100.

what should i check on it before i buy? it has a weird little like decocking lever behind the trigger, you pull the cylnder pin and the cylnder drops out. i cant remember the model number i think it was 622.

so what do you all think i should offer and check on it before i buy. its just gonna be a paper puncher/ soda can tosser for my wife, myself, and whoever else comes along in our lives together.

Read the revolver checkout sticky at the top of this forum by Jim March and use that as you guide for function/serviceability.

$100 isn't a great price for a used 622 but its not a bad price, that is in the ball park and I'd fork over that much for a decent used one. Enjoy it.

Not sure if it was the same model number, but I had a H&R 22 revolver about 25 years ago, and the thing was so badly timed the bullets hit the target sideways. Needless to say, I don't have it any more. No more H&R guns for me.

well i have a H&R 20gauge topper and have never had any problems with it.

im gonna go back now and see if i can get it for like $80 and see exactally what model it is and such. im just guessing that its a 622. im now sure.

I'm looking to buy an H&R .22 right now too.I'd pay $100.00 for the right one, maybe a little less for one that has a little less blue on the edges, maybe a litle more for a minty one.It all depends on the deal. YMMV.tom.

I guess I need to pick up the one at the shop as it is NIB never been fired. $100 OTD brought in by a lady that said it was in her late husbands safety deposit box in the box.

I did a H&R 923 Range Report a while back. The 923 is essentially the same revolver except in nickel with a 9 shot cylinder. These are basically decent inexpensive little shooters. Make certain the pistol is safe in single action mode by cocking the hammer and trying to push it off the sear.
