The Lever & Spring assembly isn't advancing the cylinder. The lever is lifting when the hammer or trigger are worked, but it's just going up and down. It doesn't want to engage the star on the cylinder, or even go through the opening. I can push it through the opening without any resistance, but it doesn't do it on its own. Could the spring have slipped loose from it's seat? What could be causing this?

I have h&r top break similar to that and the cylinder pawl has a wire spring that goes into the trigger and makes it reach through to the cylinder, the spring broke or came loose.

Do I have to remove the trigger to fix it? Or is it possible to reach by removing the hammer and getting down there with a tweezers?

It's not too bad to tear down just drive out the two pins and trigger guard and trigger assembly pull out. Remove the mainspring first if it's coil type cock hammer and use a paper clip or wire through the guide to hold the spring compressed then release hammer and it will drop out I had to tear mine all apart to fix the hammer not cocking on double action. What book is that? I might have to find a copy.

Firearms assembly/disassembly revolvers from 1979 I think if you want I could try to get better pics of the chapter for you.

It isn't too bad to tear apart. I've had mine apart and back together several dozen times. It's fixing the problem that's the booger. Keep an eye on ebay too. I've found some oddball parts floating around there.
