I recently “picked up” this H&R “PREMIER” 2nd Model .32 S&W top break revolver for a reasonable price. It’s the 7th variation with the “new” grip frame that has no step down for the grips. These were made from 1925 through 1941. As you can see from the photos, it’s in very nice condition. I’d say 98% finish with sharp clear markings. Just a few minor blemishes from improper storage. The case hardening color is strong on the hammer & top latch. The lock up is tight & timing is perfect. The bore and cylinders seem mint. This revolver may not have ever been fired. The grips are perfect as well. The serial number is 500063. I was wondering if any of the H&R experts can narrow down the date of manufacture ? Thanks, Bud

Yes, I believe that’s correct. From what I can gather, the “PREMIER” designation by H&R was intended to denote top quality.
Probably, an advertising attempt to complete with S&W and other revolver manufacturers.

Fine looking top-break! Definitely has a much nicer blued finish than the majority of H&R revolvers I have seen.

Thanks, yes, I agree. I feel that I “luck out” on this one.

Very nice. Great little guns. The reference for H&R Guns is found here.

jar, thanks for the reference book tip. However, since I only own this H&R PREMIER 32 & a H&R 929 22, it’s a little to pricy for my purposes. It would cost half of what I gave for the PREMIER. I was just hopeful a more involved/advanced H&R revolver collector could narrow down when it was made from the serial number. It’s a “shot in the dark”, no pun intended, as I know most Harrington and Richardson records were lost in fire. Thanks again.
