It's 4 AM here.
I woke up a few minutes ago terrified and distraught.
I don't remember all the details, but I know I woke up screaming, "WHY?!!! WHY?!!! WHY OH WHY HAS GLOCK NOT COME OUT WITH A CARBINE?!!!!!!!!"
So here I am wide awake now at 4 AM. All thanks to Glock.

Or maybe it's thanks to having a full bladder and I had to get up at 4:30 AM anyways today so I just woke up a little early.
Seriously though, why no carbine? If I'm not mistaken, they are the only company that has no rifle offering still. I've been told multiple times that Glock just wants to stay in the handgun business and do what they do best, but let's face it - Glock has been essentially making the same gun and variations of it for the last 36 years. They are no longer the big boy in town with polymer pistols, competing with Springfield Armory, Smith & Wesson, Kahr, HK, Sig, and a huge number of other manufacturers of polymer pistols. Even as a self admitting Glock fanboy here I've said multiple times that a pistol caliber carbine that is innovative and uses Glock mags would be a great idea and a way to branch out the company's offerings. In 36 years, some of the biggest changes in their products have been the addition of finger grooves on pistols, and recently the slightly new texture and serrations design on the RTF Glock 22. I realize that there are PCCs that use Glock mags, but I really think Glock has a great opportunity to hype this type of product considering the years of anticipation, albeit mostly joking anticipation like mine.
Of course, PCCs are somewhat of a dying breed, so maybe that plays a factor (and that's the response I've received in the past when I or others have asked this question), but I bet that if Glock built a carbine, fans like myself would buy it. I'm thinking something between a P90 and CX4 Storm looks wise that did something crazy impossible, like was able to switch to any caliber Glock supports with the change of a barrel and magazine.
Anyways, just venting. No, I didn't really wake up with a nightmare. I woke up to pee. I just was thinking once again about the possibility of a Glock carbine on the toilet while I read through the most recent issue of Guns & Ammo.
ETA: If you want to be technical, I suppose Kahr also makes handguns solely, but they also own Thomspon/Auto-Ordnance which does make rifles. I can't really think of another company that solely makes handguns. Every other company I think of has come out with a rifle in some way or another, and on top of that, hasn't manufactured essentially the same gun, and only the same gun, for 36 years. It's impressive that Glock has survived doing that, and I understand how - I personally own 6 Glock pistols and close to 100 Glock magazines total. They've gotten plenty of my money along with other THR members. Still though, at some point they have to add a little spice to their recipe(s) or people will reject their "food" as being bland.
