I took out my 1858 Remington brasser in 44c today using 20gr 3f bp with 35gr corn meal as a filler and wow this thing shoots very accurate!! I enjoyed this pistol very much so next I would like to own a 1851 colt navy next I bet it'll be fun...

I bet you found that the bore was pretty clean after all the shooting. Whenever I have used Cream of Wheat (COW) I found the bore was scrubbed pretty clean by the meal. I'd assume cornmeal would do the same.

yep it was kinda surprised at that, but it sure makes it shoot very accurate bein the balls are much closer to the top of the cylinder!

I went to a shoot years ago where a guy was using COW under the ball and a tub of margarine for over the ball lube. He said "Every time I touch this baby off, I smell breakfast cooking!" I guess he liked rotten eggs too. :>)

Margarine? Seems like it would get... runny... to say the least. Bet it smelled good though!!
