I'm looking to build a good 10mm round for my G40 MOS which I carry in the big fury scare'y bear'ry back-country. Paper loads will be 180 grn and fur loads 200 grn hard cast with gas check. Loads should run 1200+ fps. Looking at Blue Dot, AA-7 and AA-9. Anyone have any experience in building such loads ? If so, what primers, propellant and size of charge do you recommend ? I know there is a quadbitrillion opinions, so fire away. I am already aware of the 'Handloads void the Glock warranty' so we can forgo that discussion.

Tried Blue Dot with 200 gr XTP and ended up liking 800X better. In a G 20 with a Storm Lake aftermarket barrel I got 800X and 200 gr XTP’s over 1200 FPS but won’t share the weight as it was over listed max by a bit before I started seeing overpressure signs.

Heard AA9 is good too but never tried it.

different ballgame if your going with lead though.

I use unique for my hardcast 180 gr loads.
For 200s hunting or woods carry I use the xtp with bluedot

I like AA#9, and would favor it over AA#7 in that weight range. IMO, AA#7 is better suited to the lightweight bullets (165s, for example), while AA#9 is the stuff for 180's and up. As for charge weights, just use published data. Western (Accurate's umbrella/parent brand) has data for AA#9 200 grain lead in their free online data. https://www.accuratepowder.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/11/WPHandloading-Guide-7.0-Web-REV.pdf

AA#9 lights up just fine at full loads with non-magnum primers; you'll have excellent casefill so the primer will be firing directly into a full stack of powder. I default to CCI LPP's because I like harder/tougher cups for heavier loads. I think I've also used the Winchester LPPs.

I have found that Power Pistol under a 200 grain Precision Delta RNFP will get to 1200 (and a little bit) FPS.

But on the way there, I found that 7.8 grains had an extreme spread of only 8 and 1160 FPS. No typo, 8 FPS spread from low to high. That's MY keeper in 10mm/200

Anyone have experience comparing Longshot to AA #9 pushing 200 grn bullets at 1200+ fps ? I'm hearing that 12.4 grains or more won't fit into a 10mm Starline case. Can anyone speak to this ?
