Or a "who cares" post. However, somebody might find this info useful.
I went on a hunt for black powder last week, and came up empty. I did find some Pyrodex RS (FFg equivelent) and from what I found, it measures the same as black powder BY VOLUME. Not by weight. So I decided to see how it measured and weighed.
Surprisingly, I found that it weighs just abot exactly 10 grains per cc as measured by Lee dippers.
Lee Dipper Weight
4.3cc 43 gr.
2.5cc 25 gr.
1.0cc .9 gr.
.5cc .45 gr.
I believe the difference with the smaller dippers is a result of the size of the individual grains (HUGE) of pyrodex - it's difficult to get a level measure.
Anyway, I'm not sure what good this will do for anyone, but I haven't seen anything like this posted (haven't looked a lot, to be honest) and figured that someone might be interested. If so, there you go. If not, well ....
