I have a small Holiday anecdote to share in the way of a Holiday Greeting to all of you. I just got back into guns in early 2006 after a 20 years lapse and so my wife had not been around me much when I had guns before. When I got back into guns it was upsetting to her as she is simply turned off by guns. She doesn't like the literature lying around and she rarely goes in the basement room where my guns are kept. However, bless her, she has always had a sense of humor and it came through recently bigtime and in a nice way. She and I had a gift exchange with this couple who are very close friends. It was also about my birthday which is Dec 22 (1942 if you are curious). So, anyway, there was a gift package for me among the gifts and it was marked as from each of our two friends as well as my wife. So, when I opened it there were two little figurines that had little hooks at the top of each for hanging on the Xmas tree. One was Santa without his hat sitting in a tree stand with his cold weather bibbers on and, yes, a long gun across his lap. The other was a snowman (they scribbled a beard on his face because I wear a beard, always.) dressed in winter coat and one of those caps with earflaps down, and a bill, that is like Elmer Fudd wears when hunting that "pesky wabbit", and his overshoes and...yes carrying a gun.

This gift was my wife's idea and all in fun and she said the two figurines were for the "gun room." I laughed so hard my stomach and back were aching and it was really, really a neat gift.

So, I extend holiday greetings to all of you...if you don't celebrate a holiday this time of year then I extend greetings and peace for now and the coming year. Enjoy and appreciate your loved ones, they are precious treasures. :)
