Happy New Year to all THR members, let 2010 bring you all more firearms, fun, learning, and protection of our 2nd Amendment rights.

Is firing blanks on new years legally considered "discharging" a firearm, since nothing was actually discharged?

"...Is firing blanks on New Years legally considered "discharging" a firearm..." Yep. It ain't about there being a bullet.

Fire, Hot gas, and gunpowder particles are discharged... and if at point blank range, can still put a decent hole in a human skull or organ. Google "Killed by blanks"

I need help. I am already struggling with my new years resolution. I have gotten into many heated discussions on THR defending guns such as Hi-Points, Heritage Revolvers, Norinco's, Mosins, etc.... because I shoot and own all low cost guns.

My resolution this year is to NOT buy a cheap gun every month but save up. My next purchase is going to be a 1911. So, I have some money tucked away as I was able to trade an old snowmobile for my last purchase of the year... an SKS last night...

Well, first thing this morning I see in the local listings an EEA Witness in .45 and I want to buy it... but it is NOT an 1911. Talk me out of it...

lol

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year to all. 2009 is gone, but not forgotten...lets hope/ pray/ work on making 2010 better!

So, here's wishing everyone more trips to the range! Have fun with your hobby! Take new shooters out to bring them into the brotherhood!

Be safe. See you at the range.

Mark
