The handgun case is similar to the long gun case I posted about earlier in construction, with a thick but not brittle shell and locking holes bolstered with a piece of metal on the lid corners.
A thick carry handle sits in the middle and a pressure release valve sits underneath. There are four closing snaps, one on each end and one on either side of the carry handle. This makes for a solid lock up.
The case came with four layers of foam, one fits in the lid and the bottom and two are pluck-foam inserts. You can use them two ways; as a dedicated case you can pluck the foam to match the outline of the gun(s) you have or you can stack them by putting two guns in, foam, two guns, foam, two guns and close.
I did just that with two 7.5” Rugers
Then two other full sized guns:
A 10” MK IV and a K-frame:
And then I closed it up.
Everything fit well, so I swapped a few guns out of the case and went to the range. I purposely set the case upright in the rear seat of the Ford to see if there was any slippage. All stayed put, none moved.
Like the rifle case I reviewed earlier I haven’t gone on a trip with this case, but I have no doubt it’ll take four guns on a plane ride without worrying about them getting damaged.
Stay safe.
