Have you purchased anything gun related in the last three days?

On RimfireCentral some have been talking about Marlin XT rimfire rifles sorta being hard to find. I’d been wanting a stainless XT in 22 mag for quite a while and I found one on Bud’s a few months ago and they showed 10+ in stock. When I checked early last week they showed having less than 5 so I went ahead and ordered one and had it sent to one of their retail stores Uncle Lee’s. I’ll be making the 40 mile trip later today. It’s a Marlin XT22 mag stainless heavy barrel. If it’s anything like my XT17 heavy barrel blue 17HMR it’ll be a great rifle. I know Remington had a rough go of making the Marlin lever actions for a while but they have done well with the rimfire stuff.

13,700 primers for $20/1000. Small and large pistol.

I might be set for primers for the next couple of months.

Last night I got a box of Hornady Critical Defense 380 ammo, a box of CCI 22lr shotshells, and a set of brass and steel punches with a brass and rubber mallet

:D Big grin.

The SIG Romeo5 Red Dot Sight I ordered arrived yesterday. I am surprised at how small and lightweight it is. It makes me think I am going to enjoy shooting my AR-15’s even more.

:D Another big grin.

I like that sight quite a bit :)

Hi...
Went on another little gun shop tour today with my son through upstate Pennsylvania.
I bought nothing but my influence on my son finally shined through.
He bought a Taylor & Co 1873 Gunfighter Model in .357Mag. This is the model with the 1860 grip frame. Very nice revolver. Very vivid case coloring.
My son has been mostly focused on semi auto handguns for years but recently bought a S&W .357Mag and now he has decided that my affection for SA revolvers is actually a good thing.

3250 Berrys .32 Cal 83 Gr DEWCs. The last of their kind, unless someone has some squirreled away out there. If they do.......

My last Tapco G2 trigger group needed, simply to have a modern Disconnector in the imported AK which still needed trigger slap to be eliminated.
Don't need the hammer, because the original hammer has some beautiful profiling done by a previous owner, which is why the bolt carrier's tail has no peening at all.

Aguila .22LR ammo (my first), to see whether it functions ok in the newish M&P. All other ammo tried so far does well, except for Fed. Champion (bluish boxes).

"Now that I'm retired It's time to thin out the collection"......... That's what I keep telling myself, and I've sold a couple already. But then I keep coming across more deals I can't refuse. Like this 2 gun package deal. An Iver Johnson Hercules Grade 12 ga. double; something that I never thought I'd own, and a very nice, older 20 ga. Mossberg 500 with a C-Lect choke that my step grand daughter can try busting some clay birds with this summer. Gonna sell a couple more safe queens to make more room for the new arrivals. $1.50 plus tax.
Sandpaper, 200 grit.
Way too slow going, sanded the bbl channel on my fingergroove 10/22. Its hollow under most of the length, but up front is not.
11mm socket w paper around it got it almost. Now my OCD has me working the left side for same gap as right.
Note......no sanding on the right. Yup. There is some bend to the stock.
Push a bit when tightening action screw, slight play....tightens and a dollar bill can slide almost all the way back.
So is good enough to test (see if free float solves the prob.
I still want equal gap though, and it's close, but I demand perfection.
Even on a dinged up stock.

Had huge forend pressure in original form.. Relieved well over 75% of that and shot today. It sucked in orig form, but in mid warm up shot well, then went to crap. With today's majority of pressure relieved, it did just as bad, maybe a little worse.

Tonight it free floats. Barely. A little more on the left and it will be even gap.

Dunno if I can get to range before Sunday.

New Ruger Mark IV Lite on Tuesday, ordered Bushnell TRS-25 for it same day. Got it today and mounted it, so now I have to go to the range again to zero it, after doing that yesterday with an old Leapers I had laying around.

Dangit. I sent a Bushnell 2X pistol scope in for repair (bought used, crooked crosshair- scope looked mint). Repair center evidently couldn't/wouldn't repair it (older Japanese model). Sent me their First Strike red dot.
Your TRS is 3 moa, which is decent. This thing is 5 moa and more for speed stuff I reckon.

My ol lady likes her TRS25 enough she didn't want to trade for thebrand new reflex LOL.

Looks like I may have to send it back. Crap. Went to the range yesterday and I couldn't get it to raise the dot high enough to print. Didn't look like any change at all with adjuster maxxed up. Looked online and found another guy with the same problem. He took his off and simply moved it back as far as he could, and it's fine now.(?) Meh, I'm willing to give it another go, since I got 30 days on it, and certainly don't wanna send it back if I don't have to.

Two zippered nylon canvas rifle cases for my daughter's 10/22s. Identical to mine so they are indistinguishable from each other. I'm going to have them do whatever sort of artwork they want (they are both artistic) then laminate it for luggage tags so we can immediately see whose is whose.

A brick of CCI Standard Velocity 22lr.

Worked a good bit over OT as of late so put it to use to stock up on some reloading components. 10k cci primers, 8lb jug of unique and 8lb jug of W231. Also got an Mark IV 22/45 lite on order. Going to put a lobos mount with a vortex venom red on it that I picked up a few weeks ago. Also got a New Fronteir armory AR9 upper and lower in. Mounted a red dot and hope to go shoot it in the morning.

I must be entering my second childhood. I just ordered a tanker style muzzle brake------to put on a Ruger Precision Rifle. I just want to see what effect it will have on the size of groups and if it impacts where they hit compared to a bare barrel. There is the added addition of taming some of the fierce recoil of the rifle. :D:D

If it messes up the groups I can always stick it on my AR and annoy other shooters.
