There are two episodes of "Modern Marvels" on the History Channel tonight that will interest shooters. At 9 p.m. Eastern time there's a program on bulletproof materials and their uses. At 11 p.m. Eastern time there's a program on "The Magnum... known as the most powerful gun in the world". Might be of interest.

(Of course, the programs are separated by two episodes of "Mail Call", which is always fun for gunnies... :D )

IIRC the episode of "Magnums" was riddled with more than the usual number of blunders, errors, and mistakes.

What? Some shows that don't detail WWI, WWII or Hitler specifically?

Maybe I should stop calling it the Hitler channel. :) Thanks for the info, I'll watch all 4 shows.

Maybe I should stop calling it the Hitler channel.

It's an old joke that isn't applicable anymore. Sure, they still show plenty of stuff about WWI & WWII, but the vast majority of their programming is on other subjects. Modern Marvels is a regular favorite. Between that and Mythbusters on the Discovery Channel my ReplayTV stays busy.

The History channel does make some mistakes but I appreciate the fact that they are attempting to bring some positive firearms shows into the public eye.
I think that many networks are preaching the anti gun message.
I am annoyed when the History channel shows Hollywood movies and presents them as historically accurate. Mississippi Burning was one example where it shows the FBI under H. Hoover as civil rights heroes.
BTW
Nazi Germany left a huge archive of film behind when it disappeared below the waves of European history. The films are in the public domain and hence, real cheap. I think that may have something to do with the selection.

Just remember that the Walker Colt was THE most powerfull handgun untill 1980! :what: That the US Mounted Rifles committed "War Crimes" in 1846 against the Mexicans!!! :cuss: Where do they dig up these "Experts"from? :barf:

I watched the program about the magnums until the announcer said the .44 magnum had a bore of .44 inches. Then I went to bed.
