I received a lot of 9mm brass from a friend. Mixed bag of headstamps but a lot of "A USA." I looked it up on the web and found "A" but no "A USA."

Any ideas on its origin? It also looks like it is military crimped.. so there really is no Santa Claus.

"Headstamp was changed from ARMSCOR USA to A USA in 2009."
Of course the above quote came from Wikipedia, so I don't know how much faith I'd have in it being true.;)

Their plant is located in Pahrump, Nevada. They also do warranty work on Rock Island Armory and other Armsco firearms at this location.

Armscor, correct. I've used their 10mm ammo, and it's OK, and I have some trouble seating primers every once in a while. Reloaded 7 times so far, with no other issue.

Decent brass. I do see a fair amount of off center primer pockets that I culled as I worked thru it. Maybe 1 in 20ish.

A USA is on my cull list because of the primer pocket depth. Have not experienced it myself but reports had it as being too shallow and thus leaving primers sitting high.

I have about 500 pieces of it, no issues with primers being high. The biggest and lost annoying part from this stuff is the off center flash holes.

Is it great brass? Nope, but good enough for blammo ammo.

Life is too short for crimped primer pockets. Especially 9mm. That stuff is everywhere on the ground for free, and cheap to buy.
