Hearing Protection Act - time to write your reps!

Now is apparently the time to be contacting our representatives in support of two similar Hearing Protection Act bills (one in Senate, one in House of Reps). Don't ask me why they are doing the dual pronged approach.

The Hearing Protection Act would remove suppressors from the NFA list and allow us to purchase them like regular firearms with a 4473 background check instead of having to pay a $200 tax and wait a year to get them.

The link below is quick and easy and has a generic form filled out already if you don't know what to say. It will go to your representatives, no need to have to look them up.

If it is your Senator that asked, the Senate Bill is S.59 Hearing Protection Act. If your House Representative is asking, there is a House Resolution Bill that is H.R. 367.
If you used the generic letter that information was in it, if not it is worth writing back and letting him know.

Thanks to all who took the time. In Maine we didn't think Constitutional Carry had much of a chance to pass but we did our best and it was enough. We didn't think we could defeat the Universal Background Checks but we fought hard and got it done. On the Federal level, we can do this too.

This. Twist your friends arms to get them to write/email or call. If they sit back and cool their heals they are part of the problem, not the solution. It's one thing if someone has no interest in this passing, quite another to complain about government regulations like the NFA all the time at your local gun shop or pub but not be willing to take 5 minutes to write your representatives. That always bugs me.
