Good afternoon and happy labor day! We're getting closer and closer to bringing home the raging hunter 5(ish)" .454....which brings us to optic options, this thing will dominantly eat heavy .45lc/light .454 loads (250-260 gr at roughly 1200ish fps) but on occasion will also be kicking heavy loads to stay in practice for nastier work when applicable, I searched and found plenty of helpful threads for Mount types for the old raging bull rail design, and a few about specific optics but this is where it gets trickier. Ideally we'd like something in the 2-3x magnification range that will withstand the intended use. Having handled many pistol scopes, we are leaning towards more of a red dot type, the ultradot match dot 2 checks a LOT of boxes but there's just a bit of a snag.... Mrs horsey (primary user) has an astigmatism and red dots Starburst on her, thanks to previous advice from the thr crowd we got her ar optics setup in green and she has loved that! Now.... can we find something comparable to the ultradot in green? Or are we just barking up the wrong tree entirely?
