Just won a Chinese SKS on an online auction. It came with a scope mount and scope which I have already ordered a new receiver top cover. I have taken it all apart and everything is matching. I will post pictures of the factory code and serial number if anyone could help with year of production. Also feel free to let me know if $350 is a good price for what I got. Thanks for any help, I apologize if there are many threads similar to this.

I think $350 if a good price in today's market. As far as the date of manufacture goes, nobody can really say for certain. No solid information has come out of China as far as serial number decoding, or even the location of the arsenal where they were built in most cases. The more common /26\ arsenal guns can be dated loosely, but not definitely. Yours being a less common arsenal stamp, it would be a guess.

thanks for the reply!

Looks like you did really well on your bid, I've got one also but I paid $400.00, it has a no matching numbers, I won't be able to pick it up until tomorrow because of this virus, mine is a Norinco, but it looks pretty clean, it looked like a frankenstien parts gun, but all I wanted it for is to have a SKS shooter. I've got a AK-47 that is Russian, made in the Ishmash factory.

That's a $400 rifle all day around here, not counting the scope (no idea if it's worth anything or not). You didn't hurt yourself with that purchase at all.

Thanks for all the replies! Seems like I did well on a almost blind online auction. Only 3 total pictures to look at while bidding and no details besides s/n. The scope is a old tasco. I want to use just the irons so thats why I have a stock cover coming in. I will check out those triggers although I havent fired it yet. I kinda do wanna keep it all original. As there is not one non matching number on the gun. I know its not a collectible but i like keeping it original.

From your title I thought THR and Tinder had merged. That is a very nice Chinese SKS. You did good with that one. Most I have seen were dogs. Makes me want to dust off my Norinco and see if it still goes BANG.

That has much better wood than most commercial Norincos. Nice score OP.

Thank you! Those pictures dont really do it justice either . It was a darker room but that last on on the table helps show its true look. I was pleasantly surprised when I opened it up! Especially after all the replies on here.

Sks are very underrated rifles, almost boringly reliable and surprisingly accurate. They may not have the bling factor of an AK, but will always get the job done.

If, in future years, you are tempted to sell or trade it away for something more exciting- dont. You will end up kicking yourself for it, lol.

I have wanted one for awhile, I picked up a Norinco Mak-90 awhile back almost new and was waiting to find a nice sks. I have passed on a few for certain reasons , missing bayonet or rough stock condition. Like i said above I had three small pics on the auction site and was pleased/worried my bid stuck but this will not be sold anytime soon if ever.

Looks like a great deal ! Based on those pictures I was wondering "what's the catch ?". Not sure what price that would go for around here these days but it would be at least a hundred bucks more than what you paid. In fact; the last SKS I purchased was at a gun show in Jan. 2013, and I paid $450. back then. Got it to serve as my "beater" so my other two could get a break, ( another 3 SKS guy here), It's a used Chinese model and not as nice looking as yours but it works great and is reliable, just like most SKS's. Got a picture of it with the date & price here on the computer. It's been posted on TRH before but I forgot exactly what thread and which section, ( it was probably another SKS price topic )...Here it is again.... IMG_1713_LI.jpg ..
