Help deciding my next handgun...

I bought quite a few of them years ago when they had some pretty nice sales going on. Like their designs, their holsters, and their prices!

Since you already have and are familiar with the Glock 43, perhaps a Glock 48 would be for you. It is the same height and length as a Glock 19, but about the width of the Glock 43. The stock 10 rounds magazines should be adequate, but if you wish, shield arms offers flush fit 15 round magazines. This is what I carry. Same height, width and magazine capacity as a G19 but in a slimmer package that is more comfortable to carry. It also shoots very nicely. I spent the afternoon popping clay pigeons at 15 yards with mine today.

I did not know about the shield arms 15 round mag. Thanks for the info I’ll look into it.

If shield arms is out of stock, do a google search to find other vendors. I actually ordered my first two from the glock store because Shield Arms wasn't showing them in stock, but the glock store had them.

There is a reason the 19 is Glock's most popular product. Another option if you are "handy" is to get a 17 and shorten the frame to make it more compact and use Glock 19 mags. I have one adapted this way and its pretty amazing.

I need some recommendations on handguns to help me decide what my next purchase will be. I’m wanting either a full size/duty or a compact in the Glock 19 size range. All my handguns are sub compact pockets 380 size, the largest I own is a Glock 43. So a compact size gun would seem like a full size to me. I plan to use this as a home defense, truck gun, range gun etc. I would like a light on the front so a rail is a must. I’m leaning towards a compact size so I can still conceal carry if needed to but since I have a Glock 43 maybe I should just get a full size. Maybe y’all can shed some light on this and help me decide. Price range I would like to not go over $600 so I have some room for a light and extra mags. Thanks in advance guys!

Glock 19? just a thought..easy to carry, reliable, accurate, not expensive..many really nice pre owned ones out there. Full size? Glock 17....

The Sig p365 is easy to conceal, takes 10, 12, and 15 round mags, and can take a light.

I like my M&P 2.0 Compact. Mine is a .40 but it is basically the same size as a Glock 19/23 only slightly thicker. The biggest reason I went with it instead of the Glock was price. Everything is nuts right now but they are usually a good bit cheaper.

Just an update. I have a couple thousand rounds through my G48 using the Shield Arms mags. Not a single hitch. I don't know that it needed it, but when I first got the mags, I noticed that the springs were really short so I replaced them with wolff springs. I do that with my mags anyway.

I've really taken to carry the G48. It is very comfortable, even when sitting. Honestly, I often forget it's even there.

You have to get what works for you for me it was the Glock I'm still carrying my sig p938 and 1911 but I will be transferring over to the Glock 48 after I get back on my feet back to work and get my holster and magazine carrier square away
