To be clear, I have an old Colt AR-15 A1 with the old-school carry handle,NOT a modern flat-top, and am considering mounting a scope on it that I already have lying around gathering dust (Bushnell Elite 4200 3-9x40) .
The best mount I think I've found is this one from Leupold ($24.99) that seems to be well reviewed....

....but I'm stumped on rings, and my Google Fu appears not up to the task tonight. After tearing my hair out all over the web, especially on Optics Planet's useless, pain in the ass website, I've ended up back here ( like where maybe I shoulda started in the first place,LOL!!)
I'm trying to keep this as reasonable as possible, but don't want to waste money on junk, either.
Assuming I'm GTG on that Leupold mount, I'm considering these Weaver tactical rings......

My only concern is that the 1" rings don't seem to come any smaller than medium height, and being that the scope is already going to be mounted on a carry handle, I believe I want them as low as I can get.
Anyway, you guys get the idea. As always, any info, advice or recommendations are much appreciated......

Thanks, mrmustard, but are you recommending this mount from Sportsmanguide based on personal experience, or did you just Google one up for me? I'd already seen this one while web searching, but my experience with no-name products from SG hasn't been very good, and this one is the exact same price as the Leupold I'm considering ( probably more, since SG always has inflated shipping charge.)
But thanks for the reply, I'll take what I can get :).

I think RCModel's recommendation is a good one, and just so you know, your links are broken. You have to copy the whole link, and you only got the shortened versions with "....'s" in the middle.

Thanks RC, those rings are perfect, but I'll probably just stick with the Leupold mount for only $25, all reviews were very positive.
And thanks Mr. Clean, I fixed the jacked-up links.

Gentlemen shooter and good friend of mine uses it on his ARmalite. He likes it enough.

I would second the ARMS mount.

I tried a half dozen different mounts way back when, including the Colt factory scopes. ALL would shift zero when handled roughly except the ARMS mount. If it doesnt fit very tightly into the handle, not the bottom, but the sides as well, I wouldnt trust it from my experience.
